The Office of Assessment & Data provides oversight regarding the use of assessment information in the achievement of Jennings School District's academic objectives. The office assists with collection, interpretation, dissemination, and use of testing and research data. The goal of the assessment office is to provide relevant data to answer teaching and learning questions.
Assessments are used to provide teachers insight into how best to plan instruction, as well as to inform district and/or state accountability. The primary goal of assessments are to improve student learning by providing regular, timely feedback on students' strengths and weaknesses to help guide instructions and support student progress.
Jennings School District supports assessments that are aimed at college and career readiness skills. In addition to providing students with the state assessments, the district pays for a minimum of one ACT test for students who do not qualify for the waiver. The document located on the link below summarizes which assessments are optional and the cadence for testing throughout the school year depending on grade level. Brief overviews of the purpose of each assessment are also provided.
