The Office of Assessment & Data provides oversight regarding the use of assessment information to achieve Jennings School District's academic objectives. The office assists with collecting, interpreting, disseminating, and using testing and research data. The goal of the assessment office is to provide relevant data to answer teaching and learning questions.
Assessments are used to provide teachers insight into how best to plan instruction and inform district and state accountability. The primary goal of assessments is to improve student learning by providing regular, timely feedback on students' strengths and weaknesses to help guide instructions and support student progress.
Jennings School District supports assessments aimed at college and career readiness skills. In addition to providing students with state assessments, the district pays for a minimum of one ACT for students who do not qualify for the waiver. The document located on the link below summarizes which assessments are optional and the cadence for testing throughout the school year depending on grade level. Brief overviews of the purpose of each assessment are also provided.
